Atelier de Troupe found inspiration in the strong artistic and architectural heritage of Mexico for its 2023 collection, PEDREGAL.
The collection borrows its name from famed architect Luis Barragan's project, "Jardines del Pedregal de San Angel" (the gardens of the lava fields), which was at the forefront of a new and distinctively Mexican-modern architecture development of the 1940's; dramatic houses and gardens blending into the beautiful volcanic landscape in the center of Mexico city, with the most notable one iconic of architect's work, Casa Pedregal.
Keeping with the studio’s Brutalist and Art Deco inspired aesthetics and integrating the native materials used by Barragan, PEDREGAL features glazed lava stone and woods that are sourced and handmade in partnership with multi-generational Mexican artisans.
